Dog Training Style

My training philosophy includes a mix of approaches focused on positive reinforcement and building trusting bonds between dogs and their humans.

LIMA Method

Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) training is a gentle, science-based approach that focuses on positive reinforcement, minimizing stress and letting a dog be a dog as much as possible.

Relationship-Based

Relationship-based training helps build up your bond with your dog through positive reinforcement, empathy, consistency, and clear communication and boundaries.

Attachment-Focused

Attachment-focused training is based on the belief that your bond with your dog is the basis of everything, and that the security and trust they feel with their humans is the most important tool we as trainers use.

Rates and Packages

After a free introductory call, where we can talk and go over any questions, I charge $25 for an hour together with you and your dog and then add a fee for travel, depending on distance.

In this hour, we can go over your hopes for your dog and what behaviors you want to work on, then actively work on training together! I will also leave you with a basic homework plan, next steps, and timeline for future meetings.

I also offer a five-meeting package for $100 (excluding travel fees) for people who are committed to working together for multiple sessions!

While I have almost two decades of experience training dogs, most of my work has been for free with rescue dogs! Training is a hobby and a passion project. Because making money off of training isn’t a high priority for me, I haven’t put time and money into official certifications. I offer my expertise at a low rate to reflect this. If you’re interested in someone with more certifications I’d highly and happily recommend anyone certified by The Grisha Stewart Academy!
